Successful First Power Delivery of the Dak Nong 450,000-ton Aluminum Smelter Project in Vietnam

At 2:30 a.m. on May 16, 2026, the 450,000-ton Aluminum Smelter Project in Dak Nong, Vietnam, undertaken by NFC, successfully achieved its first power delivery. This milestone marks a significant breakthrough in project construction and lays a solid foundation for subsequent system commissioning and trial production.

As Vietnam’s first aluminum smelter project, NFC worked closely with the project owner, Tran Hong Quan Metallurgy Co., Ltd. (THQ), to overcome challenges such as the lack of local electrolytic aluminum industry standards and differences in technical specifications. Together, we successfully completed critical tasks including power supply scheme design, equipment and system joint commissioning .

Leveraging its rich experience from the successful execution of multiple overseas aluminum smelter projects, the NFC project team conducted several rounds of technical exchanges with the THQ team to align technical standards, optimize the power delivery plan, and ensured seamless coordination across all stages. Through high levels of mutual trust and a pragmatic approach, both parties ensured the power delivery was completed successfully on the first attempt, laying a strong foundation for subsequent system commissioning and trial production.
