NFC held its Annual Safety and Environmental Protection Meeting in Beijing on 4th Mar, 2015, attended by the whole executive team, staff at headquarters and representatives of affiliated companies both home and abroad.

Mr. Ma Jinping, vice-president of NFC, delivered safety and environment report titled as Strengthen Responsibility and Enhance Management to Break New Ground for NFC’s Work on Safety and Environment Protection. Reviewing the work in the past year, NFC has achieved progress on the following 6 aspects:

1.Generally established the work safety management system by clarifying goals and improving system;

2.Enhanced accident risk prevention capability by strengthening the hidden hazard investigation;

3.Gradually improved workers’ safe work skills by holding regular trainings;

4.Emphasized emergency rescue ability by strengthening hazard identification monitoring;

5.Improved safety management of project construction by further risk prevention;

6.Proactively carried out special work on safety with adherence to the annual targets.

Work on energy conservation and environment protection has achieved progress as below:

1.Regulated environment protection management by perfecting system;

2.Timely rectification by proactive inspection;

3.Built “Green enterprise” by promoting clean production;

4.Decreased cost and enhanced efficiency by further recycling resources;

5.Pollutant emission has been kept up to standard by increasing investment.

Mr. Wang Hongqian, president of NFC, delivered speech named Sparing No Effort on Work Safety and Environment Protection by the Opportunity of Implementation of New Law of Work Safety and Law of Environment Protection. NFC advocates its staff to place life and safety at top priority and nurture safely working into a habit, respecting which as one of NFCer’s codes of conduct. “No accident, no death and no violation” is NFC’s target. He required that project construction should always put safety as top priority, and minimize project’s impact on surrounding environment. Under efficient work safety governance, all risks can be contained, all violations can be averted, all hidden hazards can be rectified and all accidents can be avoided. Hidden hazard of accident shall be exterminated at the beginning by rectifying within a time limit in a zero-tolerance manner. He further emphasized that overseas projects shall especially pay high attention to the establishment of safety culture, which covers occupational health, environment protection, sustainable development and social responsibility. No slackness on safety and environment management is allowed no matter how busy the work is, and not a penny of investment on safety and environment is allow to be deprived no matter how tight the budget is.

After the meeting, NFC invited specialists from State Administration of Work Safety to give a lecture to introduce and explain the New Law of Work Safety.
