The Tumurtin-Ovoo Zinc Mine is located under the Ovoo Mountain, 16 km north of Baruun-Urt, Sukhbaatar Province, Mongolia, 580 km from Ulaanbaatar, and 480 km from Erenhot City, China. The designed processing capacity is 300,000 t/a zinc ore, the annual output is 66,000 t zinc concentrate, and the mining life is 25 years. NFC is the investor and general contractor of Ovoo Zinc Mine. The construction foundation of Ovoo Zinc Mine was laid in April 2000, the construction was commenced in October 2003, the ground was broken in May 2004, and the project was completed and put into operation on August 28, 2005. The pilot production was completed in only three months after the project operation, and the production technical indicators all reached or exceeded the design level, and the profitability was achieved in the first year after the operation, successfully recovering all the investment and creating a miracle in the industry.
