On January 27, 2006, NFC signed a general contract with Zambia KCM Copper Corporation, to undertake the shaft construction works for the deep ore body development of KCM Copper Mine, including five independent EPC shaft construction works, with the largest shaft depth of 1,000 m. The main work was completed in 2011, which is the first non-ferrous metal mine construction project undertaken by Chinese enterprise in Africa. In addition, the Project won the National Quality Project Silver Award in 2011.
