Iran Hormuz (FATA) Aluminum Plant Project is located near Bandar Abbas in southern Iran, with hot climate all year round. The Project is part of the Phase-II Project of the Almahdi Smelter under the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO). Phase-I ALMAHDI Project covers a series of 240 electrolytic cells with a series current of 170,000 amps and an annual output of 110,000-t aluminum. Phase-II HORMOZAL Project covers a series of 228 electrolytic cells, for which the Dubal D20 electrolytic cell technology is adopted, with the designed annual production of 147,000-t aluminum.
