The Southern Aluminum Industry Project is a large-scale production capacity cooperation project between China and the Middle East approved by the State Council. The contract was signed on February 28, 2011, and officially started on December 24, 2015. The construction content includes the 300,000 t/a electrolytic aluminum plant, supporting carbon plant, port unloading, storage and transportation facilities. The 400KA high energy efficiency aluminum electrolytic cell technology independently developed in China is adopted. The Project is the most complete and largest electrolytic aluminum EPC project that Chinese enterprise has undertaken so far. The successful development and execution of the Project is another example of the company's practice of the "Belt and Road Initiative” and active participation in international production capacity cooperation, through which the company has accumulated rich experience in developing and implementing large-scale EPC projects, laying a solid foundation for the company to further consolidate its performance in the aluminum industry and continue to develop projects in the aluminum industry and other nonferrous industries.
